The list below refreshes every morning with homes in Burbank that have an open house coming up.

What I’d Look For If I Were Buying in Burbank

If I were buying in Burbank, I’d start with the age of the house. The median home was built in 1959, and more than 62% of the city’s housing stock predates 1970, according to Wikipedia. That points me toward questions about original plumbing, wiring and windows before I’d get attached to a floor plan.

I’d also check the property type on each listing, since about 43% of homes are owner-occupied and condos and townhomes sit alongside houses. And because the airport, the freeways and the studio lots are all close, I’d stand outside at a couple of different hours to hear how much noise reaches the yard.

From My Notes: Burbank in September 2026

When I pulled the list on September 29, 2026, this is what the Burbank open houses looked like:

  • 12 homes had an open house scheduled, with 38 showings between them.
  • 2 of them were new-construction model homes from Pulte Homes of California, open most days.
  • The middle half were asking between roughly $704K and $1.30M.
  • The lowest was about $650K, and the highest was about $1.40M.
  • Most had 3 bedrooms, and the median size was about 1,746 square feet.
  • 7 of the 12 were in zip code 91505.

I’d expect the top of that range to be the larger or updated homes, so I’d compare each price with its square footage.

Burbank Neighborhoods I’d Put on My List

Postwar homes on a tree-lined street in Magnolia Park, Burbank, California

Magnolia Park

Visit Burbank describes Magnolia Park as the area along Magnolia Boulevard with vintage shops and casual cafes. Wikipedia notes that housing tracts appeared in the Magnolia Park area between 1945 and 1950, so I’d expect a lot of postwar houses here. I’d look at how much each one has been remodeled and whether the lot allows for any expansion.

Horse property with a corral in the Burbank Rancho, Burbank, California

Burbank Rancho

The Burbank Rancho sits on the Los Angeles River between Griffith Park and the Media District. It’s the only part of Burbank where the municipal code has allowed horse keeping since 1950, and the historic Mariposa Street Bridge, built in 1939, connects it to riding trails in Griffith Park. If I were looking here, I’d ask what the equestrian zoning permits on the lot and what it means for resale.

Residential street near the Media District in Burbank, California

The Media District

The southern edge of the city is home to The Walt Disney Company and Warner Bros. Studios, and the city has limited growth there since the early 1990s. I’d expect nearby streets to see weekday traffic tied to the studios, so I’d visit any home here on a weekday as well as a weekend.

Foothill homes below the Verdugo Mountains in Burbank, California

Downtown and the foothills

Downtown Burbank has a walkable stretch of restaurants along San Fernando Boulevard, according to Visit Burbank. Burbank also has a foothill section against the Verdugo Mountains, and I’d ask about slope, drainage and brush clearance on any home in that part of town.

Getting Around Burbank

A few dated items would shape my planning:

  • Hollywood Burbank Airport’s new 14-gate terminal is scheduled to open in October 2026, according to the airport.
  • Caltrans pavement work on Interstate 5 between Empire Avenue and Cohasset Street runs through summer 2027 and has included weekend closures.
  • The North Hollywood to Pasadena bus rapid transit line, which passes through Burbank, is expected to open in late 2027, according to Metro.
  • The California High-Speed Rail Authority approved the Palmdale to Burbank segment on June 27, 2024, with a station planned beside the airport.

Interstate 5 and State Route 134 run through the city. For rail, Metrolink stops at Downtown Burbank, Burbank Airport-North and Burbank Airport-South. There is no Metro Rail line in Burbank.

If a home made my short list, I’d drive the commute in both rush hours. The average is 26.0 minutes, one of the shorter figures in the county, and about 30% of workers work from home.

How I’d Plan an Open House Day in Burbank

Weekends carried nearly all of the hosted open houses, not counting the model homes:

  • Sunday had the most hosted showings with 9, followed by Saturday with 8.
  • The most common start times were 2 p.m. and 1 p.m.

I’d pair stops that sit close together, such as two in Magnolia Park, and keep the foothills for a separate trip. With airport traffic and freeway ramps nearby, I’d check the route before leaving instead of guessing.

I’d also plan around the weather. Burbank is inland, so summer afternoons run hot, and I’d schedule the outdoor-heavy stops for the morning and bring water.

Burbank Open House FAQ

What areas does the Burbank list cover?

Homes inside Burbank city limits, including Magnolia Park, the Burbank Rancho, the Media District and the foothills. Glendale, Pasadena and Los Angeles are separate cities with their own pages.

When does the Burbank list update?

Every morning. The Burbank page gets a fresh pull of upcoming open houses, and expired ones disappear.

What is the median home value in Burbank?

The Census Bureau’s 2020 to 2024 estimate for the median value of owner-occupied homes is $1,089,100. About 57% of homes are rented, so that figure reflects owners only.

Is Hollywood Burbank Airport close to the open houses?

The airport is in the city, so many homes are within a short drive. I’d ask about aircraft noise at any open house near it, and I’d stand outside for a few minutes to hear it myself.

How long is the average commute from Burbank?

The Census Bureau puts it at 26.0 minutes, compared with 29.5 in the Los Angeles metro area. About 30% of workers work from home.

Do I need an agent to attend a Burbank open house?

No. The doors are open to the public during the listed times. A host may ask for your name, but no agent has to come with you.
