The Los Angeles Conservancy calls Belvedere Park the recreational heart of East Los Angeles. The county built a pond on the south end in the late 1960s as a freeway mitigation measure, and locals call it El Parque de los Patitos. Maravilla
The Maravilla neighborhood is home to the Maravilla Handball Court and El Centro Grocery on East Hammel Street.
